St Paul’s College was proudly represented at the 2026 AIMS Games in Tauranga, with our Year 7 and 8 students competing across Rugby 7s, Basketball, Futsal and Indoor Bowls.

Our young men took three teams and two individual athletes to compete against some of the best intermediate-aged students from schools across Aotearoa. More importantly, they embraced the opportunity to compete, challenge themselves, build friendships and have a great time – creating core memories that they will remember for years to come.

Our Rugby 7s, Basketball and Futsal teams each stepped onto the national stage and competed with pride, determination and enthusiasm. For our two athletes competing in Indoor Bowls, the challenge was a little different. Rather than relying on brute strength, they discovered the importance of mental skill, patience, concentration and calmness – proving that sport is as much about what happens in the mind as it is about what happens on the field.

A special thank you goes to our coaches and staff who gave their time and energy to support our young men:
- Rugby 7s: Connor Robarts, Damien Ahio and John Vui
- Rugby 7s Manager: Ofu Ahio
- Futsal Coach: Mr Nicholas Dyer
- Team Support: Joyce Ropati
Your commitment and support ensured our students could enjoy this incredible experience and represent St Paul’s College with pride. We would also like to make special mention of Mr Willetts, who laid the foundation and worked to ensure that our young men had the opportunity to be part of the AIMS Games experience. His efforts have helped open the door for our students to compete on a national stage and create memories that will stay with them long after the final whistle.
