Bright and early on Monday 7 September, St Paul’s Services Academy journeyed 5 hours to Coopers Beach in the Far North for the annual Adventure Race, a grueling week-long test of physical endurance, mental grit, and tactical thinking.
Having trained throughout the school year, the team was ready to put their preparation to the ultimate test. Despite a smaller team than many competing schools, our young men punched well above their weight through sheer courage, resilience, and unshakeable brotherhood.
The week presented a relentless series of high-intensity challenges, including:
- Field Engineering & Survival: Digging and constructing functional sand bunkers under tight time constraints.
- Emergency Response: Navigating high-stress, real-time first aid scenarios.
- Endurance Traverses: Carrying heavy logs and gear along vast stretches of beach coastline.
- The 8km Course: Tackling an 8-kilometer course designed to test both physical stamina and team problem-solving under fatigue.
- Water & Rec Activities: Kayaking, team sports competitions, and a well-earned trip down a 100-meter slip-and-slide.
St Paul’s College performed exceptionally well across every phase of the event. Our students embodied our school motto, Confortare Esto Vir, Take courage and be a Man. Showing immense pride, integrity, and commitment from start to finish.
We now look forward to the Services Academy Graduation in October, where the final results will be announced and the winner of the Adventure Race crowned. Outstanding effort, boys!Service
